Martin Makes It Official For WVU

After holding West Virginia in high regard for several months, wide receiver Tavares Martin committed to the Mountaineer program following his weekend visit.

West Virginia received its 24th commitment in the class of 2015 when Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) wide receiver Tavares Martin verbally pledged to the Mountaineers.

"Yes, I have committed to WVU," Martin confirmed to BlueGoldNews.com. "I loved what I saw [on my visit]. THe people in West Virginia are very unique and outgoing, and Morgantown just felt like home away from home."

Martin, (6-foot-2, 165 lbs.), selected the Mountaineers over a plethora of offers including Louisville, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida State and Nebraska.

Earlier this week Martin made it clear he was looking to shore up his recruitment this weekend and wanted to see if Mountaineer program was a place he could call home.

“I’m just looking to have a good time and see the coaches,” Martin told BlueGoldNews.com. “I want to get a real feel for the campus and see if it’s something I really like. I just want to get there and see the entire place.”

Martin becomes the third wide receiver in the West Virginia football Class of 2015, joining Jovon Durante and Khalil Lewis.

BlueGoldNews will have more coverage of Martin's commitment soon.
