Ex-WVU Asst Jake Spavital Talks Mountaineers

When Jake Spavital came to West Virginia, his initial goals were to continue learning under head coach Dana Holgorsen and to one day amass enough experience to call plays at the Power Five level. Spavital, among the youngest coordinators in the game, was hired by Aggies' head coach Kevin Sumlin when Kliff Kingsbury left the staff to take the had coaching position at Texas Tech. That allowed Shannon Dawson to take Spavital's slot, and now Dawson will also coach his last game at West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl before moving on to Kentucky.
