Liberty Bowl: WVU Defensive Outlook

West Virginia's defenders know that Texas A&M's offense has the ability to put up big numbers. That's nothing out of the norm for Big 12 teams, so the Mountaineers will focus on themes that got them through their own rugged season.

West Virginia safety Karl Joseph emphasized that the Aggies have a great deal of talent on offense, and that continued preparation and communication for the Mountaineers is a key to being able to battle the SEC squad. He echoed the thoughts of defensive coordinator Tony Gibson in showing appreciation for the lightened workload for the starters and key veterans leading up to the final days of practice in Morgantown and Memphis.

Linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski compared the preparation and readiness this year to that of the Pinstripe Bowl team two years ago, noting that 2012 team "just wanted to get the season over with". That's something that hasn't and won't happen to this year's team.
