Ford Earns Big 12 Offer

West Virginia became the latest school to offer Pittsburgh (Pa.) sophomore Paris Ford. With four early offers firmly in hand, where do the Mountaineers stack up against the rest?

Seton-LaSalle (Pa.) rising junior Paris Ford received quite the surprise this past weekend.

It was a simple phone call from his head coach to inform him of his latest offer, from West Virginia, which definitely came as a surprise.

“It was honestly unexpected,” Ford recalled about learning of the offer. “A WVU coach called my coach and told him they were offering me a full ride. I’m beyond blessed.”

Ford, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound, wide receiver, is intrigued by the Mountaineers' involvement in large part because he’s been a fan since a young age.

“I’ve liked them since I was seven years old,” Ford described. “I’m just beyond blessed to have a full ride to play football at WVU.”

In addition to West Virginia, Ford holds offers from Toledo, Temple and Penn State. He’s hoping to visit the Mountaineers this summer for camp and to get a better feel for the program.

This past season he caught 34 passes for 527 yards and 10 touchdowns.
