On Guard: Browne, Paige Detail Texas Tech Win

Gary Browne and Jaysean Paige both exceeded their season scoring averages in West Virginia's 77-58 victory over Texas Tech. But it was their defensive effort that was the main focus of head coach Bob Huggins' praise in the postgame.

Browne, who Huggins said was excellent in stifling Tech's Robert Turner in the second half, gave his viewpoint of defending the guard, who scored 18 first half points before Browne completely shut him out in the latter period. Browne also dissected WVU's press, and it's ability to physically break the will of foes just before the mental side begins to snap as well.

Paige, held out of the TCU game due to a "coaches decision" according to Huggins - read: motivational approach to getting the junior transfer to buy into the total effort approach - responded with a second straight solid game with eight points and another enthusiastic defensive performance. Here, Paige speaks to that aspect, as well as WVU's team mentality in maintaining its composure when opponents are losing theirs.
