White Details WVU Official, Upcoming Decision

Lackawanna (Pa.) wide receiver Ka’Raun White is no stranger to the West Virginia campus, having visited his brother, Kevin, on a variety of occasions. This weekend, though, he was in the spotlight for his official visit.

Ka’Raun White is certainly no stranger to West Virginia University.

It was, however, unfamiliar territory being on his official visit this past weekend as he learned more about the Mountaineers and their plans for him moving forward.

“The overall visit was great, an absolute blast,” White said. “The coaches were showing me a lot of love and showing me around. I had Daikel Shorts as my host, which was nice, and he showed me around some. Overall, it was a nice experience.”

“It was definitely a little different,” White described. “I guess because I knew it was my official visit and the nature of it being about me possibly going there. I guess that kind of made it have a different feel.”

A key component to an official visit is the opportunity for individual time with members of the coaching staff, exploring avenues to learn more about the program.

While on campus, White had the chance to sit with his lead recruiter, Lonnie Galloway.

“Me and Coach (Lonnie) Galloway had the chance to sit one-on-one and showing me what positions at wide receiver they want me at,” White said. “I was able to talk with Coach (Dana) Holgorsen, too. We just mostly talked about the future and where things will go from here.”

With signing day fast approaching White will now focus his attention on the next phase of his career. In addition to West Virginia, he has offers from Monmouth, Idaho and Akron.

“Right now my plans are kind of up in the air,” White explained. “I guess we’ll have to wait until Wednesday. I know I’m going to be having something at the school with other teammates here at Lackawanna.”
