BGN Video: WVU Spring Football Practice

After a week off for spring break, West Virginia gets back on the field for the second week of spring drills. Here's a look at some of the items that will continue to be worked on during the 15 spring sessions.

Josh Lambert was instrumental in a few WVU victories last season. Lambert produced game winning kicks over Maryland and Texas Tech, and there will be a lot of weight on his leg this upcoming season. With a lot of new starting faces, games may come down to the last second where a big time kicker is needed to seal a victory. Here you see Lambert nailing a 45-yard field goal, and backup kicker Mike Molina hitting a few kicks as well.

First year defensive line coach Bruce Tall is already making an impact on the team. As seen in this defensive line drill, Tall is giving an earful to every player in practice. Here the players are trying to "follow the hip", meaning the defensive player wants to get off the block and track the offensive player's path to make atackle. Tall is making sure players take the shortest path necessary to get to the ballcarrier, and emphasizing good technique to minimize the time require to do so.
