BGN Video: WVU Guards

West Virginia's guards put up a lot of shots in Wednesday's shootaround at Quicken Loans arena. The pace was a quick as any in recent memory, and afterward the guards discussed that and other topics leading into Thursday's game against Kentucky.

Jaysean Paige was impressed with the wild media scene in the short open interview session in the Mountaineer locker room. "Going to the YMCA and playing pickup ball, I never thought I'd be here," he noted.

"We are just trying to get ready to play here, and get a little feel for the game and create game atmosphere," he said of the high shot volume in the shootaround.

Tarik Phillip noted that the media scene was "crazy and surreal" but added that it was what he and his teammates had been working for all year. Like his teammates, Phillip is enjoying everything surrounding the Sweet 16 appearance, but is keeping his eye on the game. That extends even to the long wait for 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, where he will relax, but keep his focus on the contest.

Daxter Miles described some of the things West Virginia will try to execute against Kentucky, but expressed confidence on more than one occasion. When asked about it, Miles noted, "Why not?", expressing his overall outlook. He also said that in watching the Wildcats, "To me they don't play as hard as we play."
