Donato, WVU Coaches Dissect Sweep

There might not be a better statistical mix of control and power than Chad Donato's 27 strikeouts to just one walk this season. Here, the right-hander speaks to that effort, adding another pitch, and West Virginia's offensive outburst, while head coach Randy Mazey and assistant Derek Matlock detail the series.

Donato, now 4-3 with a staff-best 1.26 ERA, discusses his approach, the location of his fastball, the break on his offspeed stuff and the cutter he added in the sixth inning for one of his four strikeouts in a game he controlled start to finish in mastery fashion.

Mazey, whose team is on a season-best six game winning streak, discusses Donato, the ability for WVU to create offense despite lacking exceptional extra base numbers, his goals of picking up at least one win in every Big 12 road series and his thoughts on the continued production of Shaun Wood after the sophomore's early slump.

And finally Matlock adds insights to Donato's style, his array of pitches, what he'd like to see out of the bullpen in the midweek game at Pitt - as well as the weekend Big 12 road series at Kansas State - and the potential for Donato as a sophomore who threw just three innings last year.
