WVU Comes From Behind to Beat OU

Randy Mazey saw two fantastic plays from both Jackson Cramer and Justin Fox. Cramer's seventh inning home run captured the lead over Oklahoma, and Fox's fantastic snag in the bottom of the ninth sealed the win.

Coach Randy Mazey said that if the team had fallen to a 4-7 conference record they would have been in some trouble. Luckily, Saturday the Mountaineers avoided losing the series against Oklahoma. Now, 22-14 (5-6 in the Big 12) the team looks to ride the momentum they are building, and try to win the series over OU come Sunday. Here were Mazey's thoughts on the 6-5 victory over the Sooners.

WVU was looking down the wrong end of the barrel going into the bottom of the seventh inning. Down 5-3, Jackson Cramer unloaded a bomb over the center field wall at 400 feet to bring in two runs, and ultimately win the game for the Mountaineers after an RBI double by Justin Fox. Cramer finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate, and now has six home runs this season.

On the final play of the game, Justin Fox made a leaping catch on a line drive down the third baseline. Fox went 1-for-2 at the plate, but sealed the win with the catch of the game.
