Buccigrossi Commits To WVU

West Virginia has its latest verbal commitment to the 2016 class with the addition of Jacob Buccigrossi, an offensive lineman from Pittsburgh’s North Hills High.

Buccigrossi, a 6-4, 283-pounder, is rated the 38th-best player at his position and second in Pennsylvania by Scout.com. Buccigrossi listed his schools of interest as Arizona, Syracuse, Virginia and West Virginia, among others, and took a visit to UVA in early March. All of the aforementioned had offered, and Buccigrossi had in-state schools Pitt and Penn State on his list as well.

But Buccigrossi decided to commit to WVU on Tuesday after a May 18 visit to Morgantown. Buccigrossi selected the Mountaineers just weeks after the trip, during which he took in the campus experience and chose West Virginia over several top-shelf schools. Buccigrossi makes the ninth commit to the class, and first along the line for position coach Ron Crook.

WVU is reloading its line this season after the losses of a pair of guards, and will be able to begin building the needed size and future depth with the well-built trench player, who announced the decision via his Twitter account. BlueGoldNews.com will have more from the lineman upcoming. WVU now has a pair of linebackers and safeties to go along with a defensive end, a receiver, a quarterback and a listed athlete in the thus-far well-rounded group.
