WVU's Linemen, Receiver Drills Showcased

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - We take more looks at West Virginia's football drills with a mix of unit, individual and team work. Here is a deeper look into both the offensive and defensive line drills, along with some wide receiver instruction as the Mountaineers close in on the regular season.

Assistants Bruce Tall and Damon Cogdell are looking to create more pocket pressure in the three down lineman look this season after disappointing sack totals last year. Here, the defenders practiced their footwork, as well as focus on getting an initial burst off the line.

Offensive lineman are practicing their technique to pounce on loose balls, part of the every-day turnover circuit. Assistant cooach Ron Crook starts by fumbling the ball, and each player goes through the motion to protect and recover the fumble - among the more difficult tasks for players used to focusing on power moves.

In this warm-up drill, wideouts catch the ball, turn, and run through the gauntlet of defenders while protecting the ball. It's another basic and simple exercise, and one that continues to drill fundamentals of play.
