Holgorsen Details WVU Progress, Season Opener

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The news from Dana Holgosen's Tuesday press conference was that there wasn't much. The head coach mainly dissected Georgia Southern, but did detail that Edward Muldrow wasn't practicing, and noted a trio of position battles left on the offense.

The Mountaineers, though stacked with some numbers, still have yet to nail down the starters at the outside receiver threats. Expect that to remain the case up until game time - and then beyond - for the season opener against Georgia Southern because whoever happens to step on the field first will still lack any proven performances. Holgorsen said players will shuffle in and out as the coaches evaluate play, and, as always, the depth chart remains fluid at any time.

That's the current situation at right tackle, where transfer Kyle Bosch is battling Tony Matteo for the start. That has cemented Adam Pankey as the opposite guard - it was once thought Pankey might move back outside to tackle - and placed Yodny Cajuste (left) and Marquis Lucas (right) as the tackles to bookend center Tyler Orlosky; that was the same line-up release in the most recent full depth chart, on Aug. 18. Check out those excerpts and more from Holgorsen in the video below.
