Howard, Gibson On Their Connection, WVU's Win

MORGNATOWN, W.Va. - With three catches and a team-best 130 yards receiving, Shelton Gibson has made his first impressions of the new season. Here, the wideout, along with quarterback Skyler Howard, delves into their connection, how they are developing on on- and off-field relationship and what they both gained from the 44-0 win over Georgia Southern.

Gibson, who tied with freshman Jovon Durante for the game's longest catch at 57 yards, seemed to easily beat overmatched corners on deep routes, allowing Howard to simply lay the ball up for the speedy duo to run under. Gibson talks about that aspect, and the passing game as a whole, in this segment.

Howard, who hit on 16 of 25 passes for 359 yards and a pair of scores, speaks to his play and some of the early issues he had with accuracy and improper touch. Howard also discusses the Georgia Southern defense, the communication between himself and the wideouts and what most impressed him about the 544 yards of total offense. Howard, who never turned the ball over as WVU finished plus-five in the game, also details the improvements that must be made prior to the match-ups with Liberty and Maryland to finish the nonconference slate.
