Holgorsen and the Mountaineers moved to 2-0 on the season with their win over Liberty, but the head coach still found some points of emphasis his team can improve upon during its upcoming bye week. Despite giving up just 17 points in the first two games of the season, Holgorsen said the Mountaineer defense was lethargic at times Saturday night, missing assignments and failing to get much pressure on Liberty quarterback Josh Woodrum. He did offer some praise for his quarterback, Skyler Howard, who threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns. Howard has still yet to throw an interception in the four games he has started. Howard completed 21-of-26 passes and found three different receivers: Jovon Durante, Shelton Gibson and Elijah Wellman for scores.
