West Virginia Plays Host to Iowa State Looking for Seventh Win, Senior Day Victory

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Dana Holgorsen said West Virginia must be more concerned with itself than any extra motivation for Iowa State following the dismissal of head coach Paul Rhoads.

Holgorsen detailed that aspect and more, including the Mountaineers' schedule this week, how the team will have 24 hours off on Thanksgiving Day, and the preparation for an Iowa State team that has played solidly in the majority of its Big 12 games this season. Holgorsen also discussed injuries, noting that every player should be available on Saturday, including Shelton Gibson, Yodny Cajuste and Adam Pankey. Holgorsen particularly details the hit on Gibson, and how the wideout said he had "never been hit like that before."

Because of the suspension of classes for the week, WVU held a midday pratic on Monday, and will continue with weightlifting and other sessions that are more atypical in more routine weeks. Holgorsen also disssected Iowa State on all three sides, including some of its experience along the lines and very good special teams returns and coverage. Holgorsen also delved into Rhoads' firing, and how that can change a team's approach both individually and collectively.
