West Virginia Rips UL-Monroe 100-58 to Win Eighth in First Nine

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia ripped UL-Monroe for its eighth win in nine games to start the season, and in the process, head coach Bob Huggins says there were lessons learned.

The first of which involved Jevon Carter, who sat the final 13 minutes of the loss to Virginia. Carter responded, scoring as game-high 21 points and knocking down four quick threes. Huggins spoke to that development, delved into the defensive effort, and spoke to the offensive operation against the zone, and how West Virginia must shoot to combat it. Huggins also spoke to the review of the Virginia film and what the team took from that, as well as the transition issues the team has at times in allowing lay-ups, as well as directly challenging the basketball knowledge of ESPN's Jay Bilas in his typical jovial yet dry wit.
