Rushel Shell and Wendell Smallwood Both Had Key Carries to Push West Virginia to Victory.

PHOENIX - West Virginia's running game was bottled up for much of the game, but Shell and Smallwood both converted some key third-and-longs on the ground to ensure a win for the Mountaineers.

With West Virginia facing a third-and-long and needing to convert to get a drive going and keep pace with the Sun Devil offense, Rushel Shell took a hand-off, broke through the line and picked up a critical first down. Above, watch him describe the play, and the team's gritty effort on the ground against a stingy Arizona State run defense.

Wendell Smallwood was held in check for much of the game, but broke through when his team needed him most. Above, hear him describe converting a 3rd-and-22 on the ground and talk about West Virginia's game plan coming into the Cactus Bowl.
