Tony Gibson, Skyler Howard and Shelton Gibson Discuss Their Thoughts on Saturday's Spring Game

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. - Defensive coordinator Tony Gibson, quarterback Skyler Howard and wide receiver Shelton Gibson shared their thoughts after the Mountaineer spring game on Saturday afternoon.

Above West Virginia Mountaineers defensive coordinator Tony Gibson discussed his defense's play in today's spring game. Gibson echoed previous comments he made this spring, saying the defense still needs to develop more depth in the secondary. Despite the starting defense giving up some big plays, the second unit was able to account for three interceptions, including two by safety Shane Commodore.

Mountaineer quarterback Skyler Howard discussed the growth of both the offense and his individual game throughout the spring. Howard also spoke about the advice he passed along to the other quarterbacks this afternoon. Howard seemingly picked up right where he left off in the Cactus Bowl, passing for 270 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver Shelton Gibson spoke about the potential of the receiving core and their level of confidence entering the summer. Gibson credited his rapport with Skyler Howard as a major reason he has improved this spring.
