A Look At Some of the Drills WVU's Linebackers Conducted Before Saturday's Scrimmage

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Before Saturday's scrimmage kicked off West Virginia players broke down into individual units, rotated around the field and ran a series of drills. Here we see two of the drills that the linebackers went through at the beginning of practice.

In the video above West Virginia cornerbacks coach Danny Adams (AKA Blue Adams) puts the linebackers through a drill where they must drop into a zone, shuffle their feet, read the quarterback (who Adams is simulating in the drill) and make an interception. Some of the linebackers featured in the video are Justin ArndtSean Walters and Al-Rasheed Benton among others.

In this drill we see veteran defensive line coach Bruce Tall work with linebackers on a scoop and score drill in at the goal line. The linebackers must find the ball, retain it as quickly as possible and get to the endzone. Some of the linebackers you can see working this drill are Hodari Christian, David Long and several others. The drill was fitting because the defense was able to pick up two fumbles in the scrimmage that took place after drills were completed.
