Lorello Nabs Big East Award

WVU bandit Mike Lorello has gathered up a Big East conference honor after only his second time in the starting lineup.

Lorello (Powell, Ohio) led all tacklers with 12 stops as West Virginia dropped a 24-17 decision to No. 20 Wisconsin. The sophomore defensive back recorded nine solo stops in just his second career start. He also had four tackles for loss (six yards).

The 12 tackles was more than Lorello registered all of last season (seven) with the four stops behind the line tied for third on the all-time Mountaineer record list.

Lorello made several key stops, and showed a knack for making crisp open field tackles that stopped ball-carriers in their tracks.
