Ohio Standout Likes West Virginia on Weekend Swing

An outstanding Ohio football prospect visited West Virginia on Saturday and left not only impressed with the Mountaineers, but also with an offer in hand.

Class of 2018 linebacker Brian Asamoah of St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus, Ohio, had a long weekend traveling to different campuses. He visited Cincinnati on Friday and Pitt  on Saturday morning. After his visit to Pitt, he made his way down I-79 to Morgantown to visit West Virginia. While he was expecting to get the full experience of the visit, he said the offer caught him a little off guard.

"I was definitely excited about the offer. I wasn't really expecting it but I was glad to receive it," Asamoah said. "I had a great time meeting the coaches, checking out the facilities and just getting a better feel for Morgantown. WVU is definitely a place I would like to visit again."

Asamoah reports that his primary recruiting contact on the Mountaineer coaching staff is Bruce Tall.

After his West Virginia visit, Asamoah wrapped up his weekend with a Sunday visit to Penn State. He hold offers from WVU, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Penn State, Michigan, Indiana, Cincinnati, Rutgers, UCLA, Duke, Iowa St and Pitt, among others.
