West Virginia Lands Four Seed, Buffalo Pod in NCAA Tournament

West Virginia landed an expected #4 seed and a spot in the Buffalo pod for the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Mountaineers will face  Bucknell, the #13 seed, on Friday, Mar. 16 at the KeyBank Center.  Seating 19, 200, and the home of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, the arena has also hosted NCAA Tournament rounds in 2000, 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2014. The Mountaineers played in the 2010 event, defeating Morgan State and Missouri on the way to the NCAA Final Four. This will be WVU's 28th appearance in a post-season game in the state of New York.

Should the Mountaineers defeat Bucknell, they will face the winner of Notre Dame and Princeton, who are seeded fifth and 12th, respectively. Looking further down the line, that winner would potentially face #1 seed Gonzage in the West Regional semifinals in San Jose, Calif.

West Virginia will be in the West Region, and would move on to San Jose if it can win twice in Buffalo.
