Junior Guard Transferring Before 2017-2018 Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Junior guard Alexis Brewer is transferring from West Virginia's women's basketball program.

West Virginia University women’s basketball coach Mike Carey has announced that sophomore guard Alexis Brewer will transfer from the program.

"Alexis Brewer has decided to pursue other opportunities elsewhere," said Carey in a WVU release. "We’re appreciative of her contributions here at WVU the last two seasons.”

Brewer played in 66 games over the last two seasons, averaging 3.9 points per game her freshman year and 6.3 points per game in her sophomore season. The Buffalo, KY native averaged 22 minutes per game and shot team leading 42 percent form beyond the arc a year ago. She scored a career-high 16 points against Longwood.

Despite Brewer's transfer, West Virginia will return a four talented guards in Tynice Martin, Teana Muldrow, Katrina Pardee and Chania Ray and are adding a two-time junior college all-American in Naomi Davenport.
