West Virginia played host to Crozet (VA) Western Albemarle jumbo athlete Luke Tenuta on Thursday. The three-star prospect came away thoroughly impressed with everything he saw during his first ever visit to Morgantown.
"Things were great," said Tenuta. "It was an awesome visit and the facilities were great."
Topping things off came the news at the end of the trip - a personal meeting with Head Coach Dana Holgorsen and a new scholarship from the Mountaineers.
"Coach Holgorsen offered me and I was really excited," said the 6-foot-7, 250-pounder. "They really liked my size and wingspan."
West Virginia joins the likes of East Carolina, UCF, Cincinnati, and more, and they do so just in time - Tenuta plans to release a top list in the near future. He confirms that the Mountaineers have nothing to worry about, "they will" make that cut, which comes just a couple months before Tenuta will make a decision in August.
As for a position, some ranking systems have Tenuta as a strong-side defensive end. Others have him as a tight end. West Virginia - several other schools on his list - however, like his potential as an offensive tackle.
