Gyorko Gets Award

Scott Gyorko began his Mountaineer career as a special teams warrior, and although he's a starting linebacker now, his play on the bomb squads remains just as valuable.

The Big East recognized Gyorko for his weekend performance by naming him the conference special teams player of the week.

Gyorko had five tackles (four solo) on special teams as West Virginia dropped a 15-13 decision to Cincinnati. The junior linebacker plays on the punt, punt block and kickoff teams for the Mountaineers. He also tipped a punt in the second quarter and forced and recovered a fumble on a Bearcat punt return.
