Tornado Hits Maryland Campus, Two killed

At least one tornado has hit the University of Maryland campus, causing two deaths.

Strong thunderstorms and tornadoes have hit the College Park, Maryland, area, home of the University of Maryland, killing two persons.

According to Mark Brady of the Prince George's Fire and Rescue squad, two people in a car that was overturned were killed.

An advisory on Weather Underground reported the following:

At 520 PM a tornado was sighted on the ground in College Park at University Boulevard and Adelphi road...moving northeast at 25 mph into the district.

"At 524 PM the tornado was reported on Route 1 in College Park.

"These routes are run directly through the Maryland campus. Tornado warnings remain in effect throughout Monday evening."
