Mountaineers Drop JV Game

WVU played their second and final JV game of the season one day after their big win over Virginia Tech.

Despite the best efforts of WVU's reserves, Fork Union was able to hold on for a narrow 12-7 victory.

Running back Bryan Wright was the offensive standout for West Virginia, scoring the team's only touchdown. The Mountaineers had a chance to win the game on a late fourth quarter drive, but quarterback Josh Broeker slipped and fell on a fourth down rollout near FUMA's goal line.

Defensively, redshirt freshman Warren Young played well for the Mountaineers in the loss.

The trip to Morgantown also gave Fork Union's Maurice Reevey the chance to see the West Virginia campus up close. Reevey, a linebacker who was injured and did not play, is one of WVU's top remaining targets for the Class of 2004.
