Light Recruiting Weekend On Tap

Three WVU verbal commitment and one highly ranked prospect highlight West Virginia's recruiting list for this weekend.

One recruiting target that is expected is Martinsburg wide receiver Brandon Barrett, who has been high on West Virginia's list since the beginning of recruiting season. The multitalented Barrett has seemed to be leaning toward West Virginia just a bit, but the race is still open, according to the senior's latest comments to No doubt a big push will be made to secure a commitment from the big play receiver this weekend.

Three verbal commitments are also scheduled to be in for the game with Central Florida, including offensive lineman John Bradshaw, quarterback/defensive back Mortty Ivy, and defensive back Billy Relford. All three have given West Virginia solid commitments, and could help as West Virginia attempts to get a pledge for Barrett.

With the home schedule winding down, the Pitt game on November 15 figures to see a few more visits, but the November 29 game against Temple, coming on Thanksgiving weekend, might be on the light side again as holiday plans and traditional games, including playoffs, dot the high school schedule.

Official visits will, as usual, pick up in December and January, especially on the home basketball weekends of December 13 and January 10 and 24.

With Tyree Suber now in the fold, the priority on WVU's recruiting list is now linebackers, with the Mountaineers hoping to land at least one player capable of contributing heavily next year.
