The Golden Knights are 0-6 all-time vs. Big East schools, including an 0-2 mark in 2003. UCF has lost to both Virginia Tech and Syracuse this year.

Linebacker Grant Wiley became West Virginia's alltime leading tackler for loss against the Hokies. Wiley got one stop behind the line to boost his career total to 40.5, one-half tackle ahead of former record-holder James Davis.

Wiley, who is the third leading tackler in the nation, now sets his sights on West Virginia's career tackles record, but he'll have to keep up his outstanding level of play to have a shot at it. Wiley trails standard-bearer Darryl Talley (484 career stops) by 66 tackles. With five regular season games remaining, Wiley would have to average just over 13 stops per game to catch Talley.

While UCF running back Alex Haynes remains the starter, redshirt freshman tailback Dontavius Wilcox also bears some watching in the Golden Knights' backfield. Wilcox has gained 120 yards on the ground in the last two weeks, and appears to be be giving UCF a one-two punch in their rushing attack.

Fans may want to be in their seats at kickoff, because the biggest trend in scoring stats indicates some early Mountaineer fireworks in this contest.

West Virginia is outscoring opponents by the margin of 48-17 in the first quarter. On the other side of the ledger, UCF is getting wallopped by the margin of 78-17 in the same period.

UCF Quarterback Ryan Schneider has been splitting time in practice this week with freshman Steven Moffett. Although Schneider is expected to start, his injured shoulder could meand the Golden Knights will have to go to a backup at some point.

UCF used Jon Rivera at quarterback during Schneider's injury absence earlier this year, but the results weren't impressive. Therefore, UCF could be putting a new player on the field at that spot should Schneider go down.

Schneider's importance to UCF is neatly summed up by a few key offensive stats. With the senior QB, UCF scores 24 points per game, averages nearly 300 yards passing and 400 yards of total offense. Without him, those number fall to 9.5 points per game, 81 yards of passing and 227 yards of total offense.

West Virginia's next win at Mountaineer Field will give them 100 victories in the facility. WVU is currently 99-44-4 at the Evandale campus site.

Although UCF has never faced the Mountaineers, head coach Mike Kruczek has some familiarity with WVU. Kruczek was a quarterback for Boston College in the mid 1970s.
