Baseball Puts Five on Preseason First Team

West Virginia's baseball team was picked to finish fourth in the Big East in a preseason poll of coaches, and placed a league-high five players on the preseason all-conference team.

The Mountaineers were picked to finish behind Notre Dame (98 points), Rutgers (88), and Boston College (79) in the eleven team league. WVU received one first place vote, and finished with 63 points.

West Virginia was heavily represented on the all-league team, placing a league best five players on the squad. No other team had more than two players picked.

Pitcher Zac Cline, first baseman Kurtis Clinton, outfielders Lee Frtiz and Jake Serfass, and designated hitter Stan Posluszny were named to the 14-member preseason squad.
