Player of the Game - GW

Guard Joe Herber was the sparkplug in West Virginia's second half rally against George Washington.

After a quiet first half during which he hit just a pair of free throws, Herber put the Mountaineers on his back to help them rally from an 18-point first half deficit.

Herber scored nine points to help WVU close the gap to two points with :48 seconds to go, but the Mountianeers could get no closer in the closing seconds.

Herber was also solid on defense, deflecting several passes and harrassing Colonials on drives to the hoop. He also had a rare blocked shot.

For the game, Herber was 5-12, scoring his points on a variety of twisting drives to the hoop. He was 5-6 from the free throw line for a total of 15 points. He also added five rebounds to go along with one assist and one steal against just one turnover.
