Player of the Game - Maryland

WVU's sophomore sharpshooter hit three straight three-point shots to boost West Virginia into a big lead, then nailed two clutch free throws to preserve the Mountaineers' win over Maryland.

In a span of less than a minute during the second half, Beilein knocked down three long bombs to bosst WVU's lead from 52-43 to 61-45. Every one of those points turned out to be crucial, as the Mountaineers had to go into overtime to secure the win against the 25th-ranked Terrapins.

As big as those shot were, Beilein had two more that were even more cruicial. With just 12.4 seconds remaining on the clock, Beilein drained two free throws to give the Mountaineers a four point lead.

In just 19 minutes of action, Beilein had those 11 points, plus a rebound, two steals and a drawn charge that negated a Maryland hoop.

This is the second time this year Beilein has won player of the game honors coming off the Mountaineer bench, and if he continues with his marksmanship, it's certainly not going to be the last.
