Lineman Sets Official Visit

The latest on the recruiting effort for one of the top offensive linemen in the country.

Erie, Pa. native Kyle Mitchum has been the subject of an intensive recruiting effort by the West Virginia staff over the past few weeks.

After visiting the WVU campus on Pitt weekend, the Mountaineer coaches have made two inhome visits to the McDowell High School star.

"The visits were great," Mitchum said. "The coaches came up on the first day they were allowed to, and then five coaches came up last week. We got all of our questions answered."

West Virginia made enough of an impression that the Mountaineers are now on Mitchum's official visit list.

"I'm going down there on the 16th," Mitchum said of his schedule. "I'll probably make my decision after that one. That's the last of my visits that I have set up."

Mitchum would be a great cap to an already excellent group of offensive line recruits, and the Mountaineers appear to be right in the thick of the battle for Mitchum's signature.
