The new Mountaineer coaching staff has already received verbals from a couple of fine prospects in Pennsylvania, and hope to continue that trend in the coming months. One target is standout offensive lineman Blaise Iorio.
Iorio (6-2 270 5.0) is a two way lineman from Sharpsville High School in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. He visited WVU in October, and has the Mountaineers on his list of schools.
As a 2-way All-Mercer County Athletic Conference selection, Iorio plays both center and defensive tackle for the Blue Devils, but his future appears to be on the offensive side of the ball. He was named as one of the Sharon Herald's
Hearladed 22 as a junior.
Iorio is athletic enough to be a starter on Sharpsville's basketball team, and also plays baseball for the Blue Devils. He is a captain on the football team, which he led in tackles and sacks as a junior.
Iorio's father is an assistant coach for the Blue Devils.
With two senior and two junior starters on the offensive line, WVU will be looking to stok up on linemen during this recruiting season, and Iorio would be an excellent addition.
