Running Back Has Excellent Visit

A Pennsylvania running back had "a great visit" to West Virginia this past weekend, and is narrowing down his choices as signing day approaches.

Cardinal O'Hara senior Anthony Heygood had what he termed "a great visit" to West Virginia this past weekend.

"The travel was good and went smooth, and we got to watch a basketball game as well as check everything out," the powerful runner said of his weekend visit. "The college atmosphere was excellent. Ernest Hunter was my host, and we had a good time."

Heygood admitted that he was a bit surprised by everything that Morgantown and WVU had to offer.

"When you think about West Virginia in general, you think of it as a country atmosphere," Heygood noted. "But it was really more like a city. I leanred a lot about the town and the area, and I really liked it. I'm a city guy myself, so having that type of environment is important to me.

"The coaches are really nice, too. Coach Rodriguez is young, so he will probably be around awhile. WVU runs the ball, too, so I like that."

Heygood still has one more visit set, to Boston College next weekend, and it looks like these last two visits are the frontrunners on his list.

"Right now, BC and WVU are the top two," said Heygood, who is nearing the end of a long recruiting process. I'm going to take my visit next weekend, then I'll probably decide a week or so after that."
