Paige, Bulger Grab Big East Awards

Yolanda Paige teamed up with Meg Bulger to grab more conference honors after West Virginia's excellent week in women's basketball.

Paige shared Big East player of the week honors by averaging a double-double of 16.0 points and 10.5 assists and shooting 68.4 percent (13-of-19) from the field in a pair of wins for West Virginia.

She scored 19 points and dished 12 assists in a 79-53 win against Marshall. Paige then contributed 13 points and had nine assists in a 69-57 BIG EAST victory at Syracuse.

She played all 40 minutes in both contests.

Bulger nabbed the rookie of the week award for the second straight week and the third time overall after averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in two victories last week.

She recorded her first double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-57 win at Syracuse, and recorded 16 points in a 79-53 non-conference victory over Marshall.

The women's team is now third in the Big East at 4-2, and will be looking to extend their recent success, as their next four games are against teams in the bottom half of the conference. WVU is 13-5 overall.
