Pennsylvania Recruits Earn Honors

Several Mountaineer football recruits recently collected honors from the Pennsylvania Football News, the preeminent publication covering high school football in the Keystone State.

Gateway High School's Mortty Ivy was named a first team Class AAAA offensive selection as an athlete, and he was joined on that list by Baldwin's Ben Iannachione. The Mountaineers were also represented on the defensive team, as lineman Tyree Suber of Glen Mills earned first team honors and Doug Slavonic of Mt. Lebanon copped third team honors.

In class AA, offensive lineman Jake Figner was a first team selection, while counterpart Mike Dent of Jeannette was a first team pick on the defensive line.

Also earning mention as a first team selection to the Class AAAA first team defense was Anthony Heygood, who is still weighing his college options, but is expected to choose between West Virginia and Purdue.
