Women's Soccer Falls Short

For the third straight time, WVU's women's soccer team played tough but dropped a one goal decision to Notre Dame.

This game is the toughest to take of all, as the Mountaineers fell in the Big East championship by the score of 2-1.

WVU tallied their lone goal on a shot by Chrissie Abbott, who has become WVU's primary scoring threat due to the attention placed to Big East player of the year Katie Barnes.

On the bright side, WVU is sure to be selected as an at large team for the NCAA tournament, where they will look to better their one and done appearance of last season. Selections for this year's tournament will be announced on Monday. There are 36 at-large berths available in the 64 team field.
