Player of the Game - New Mexico

All three Mountaineer freshmen were outstanding in WVU's 88-85 win over New Mexico, making the selection of our player of the game a difficult one.

Drew Schifino and Tyrone Sally both played excellent games and came up with key plays, but we have to go with Jonathan Hargett for our player of the game.

Hargett scored 28 points, and knocked down a game winning three with ten seconds remaining to give the Mountaineers the championship of the Hispanic College Fund Classic. Perhaps just as importantly, Hargett dictated the tempo throughout the game for the Mountaineer attack.

Hargett bounced back from a shaky outing against Southern Mississippi to make excellent decisions in his operation of the offense. He distributed the ball well and didn't force shots, and as a result WVU went to 3-0 on the season.
