Draft Ups and Downs

The Anaheim Angels continued their West Virginia raid during day two of the major league baseball draft, taking sophomore outfielder Stan Posluszny in the 21st round.

Posluszny was a third team all-Big East selection this year, hitting .322 with six homers and 33 RBI. He was also last year's big East rookie of the year.

In one bit of good news for the baseball program Norwalk (Conn.) righthander pitcher Mark Wyner had not been selected through 48 rounds. Wyner was an early signee for the Mountaineers, but could opt for a professional career if drafted.
