Pitt Game Time Changed

The kickoff time for the University of Pittsburgh's Thanksgiving night (Nov. 25) clash with rival West Virginia at Heinz Field has been changed from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The game, which will be nationally televised by ESPN, was moved back 30 minutes so it can start at the anticipated conclusion of the Chicago Bears-Dallas Cowboys NFL telecast.

"We appreciate the flexibility of our school and conference partners," said Dave Brown, ESPN director, programming and acquisitions. "We look forward to providing primetime national exposure of this great match-up."

"This change is an accommodation for television, but should also serve our fans by giving them a little extra travel time to Heinz Field after celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday," Pittsburgh athletic director Jeff Long said. "The Backyard Brawl is always one of the highlights of the season and we anticipate hosting a great crowd for this year's game."
