Lehnortt Grabs Big East Honor

Despite playing only one half of the game due to injury, WVU senior linebacker Adam Lehnortt is the Big East's selection as its defensive player of the week.

Lehnortt (Oil City, Pa.) won the Big East's defensive honors afte leading the Mountaineer defense in WVU's 45-10 win over James Madison. The senior linebacker scored his first career touchdown on a 21-yard fumble recovery late in the second quarter.

He tallied eight tackles (five solo) in just over two quarters of play, as he left the contest in the third quarter with an ankle sprain. Lehnortt also notched three tackles for loss (12 yards), including a 10-yard sack.
