WVU Alumni NFL Update - 10/13/04

Roster moves and some big performances highlighted week five for Mountaineer alumni in the NFL.

Aaron Beasley Def. Back
Class of 1995
Aaron started at corner for the Falcons and recorded 3 tackles, but Atlanta dropped its first game of the year to a surprising Detroit, 17-10. Aaron tacked on a sack of Joey Harrington on the first play of the second half. Atlanta (4-1) will host San Diego this week.

Anthony Becht Tight End
Class of 1999
Anthony caught two passes for 20 yards in the Jets 16-14 come from behind win against the Bills. Anthony's 2nd reception came in the 4th quarter with the Jets trailing the Bills, 14-13. His 11 yard grab put the Jets in field goal position at the 27 of Buffalo right at the 2 minute warning. The upstart Jets (4-0) host San Francisco this week.

Class of 1993
The Bengals (1-3) had a bye this week and will travel to Cleveland this week.

John Browning Def. Lineman
Class of 1995
The Chiefs (1-3) had a bye and will play at Jacksonville this week.

Marc Bulger Quarterback
Class of 1999
After playing an uninspired first half, Marc turned up the heat and led a spectacular comeback over the Seahawks, 33-27 in overtime. Marc started the game 14-26 for 123 yards and 3 interceptions. But with 8:42 remaining in regulation and the Rams trailing 27-10, Bulger went to work. Over the remainder of the 4th quarter and overtime, Marc went an eye-popping 10-16 for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns. On the sixth play of overtime, facing 3rd and 8, Bulger hit Shaun McDonald deep for a 52-yard touchdown to put Seattle away. Marc also added his 2nd rushing touchdown of the season in the first half. For the year, Marc has completed almost 67% of his passes for over 1400 yards. The Rams (3-2) host the Bucs this week on Monday Night Football.

The Jags again struggled to establish the run in a 34-21 loss to the Chargers. Mike saw reserve action at guard in the contest. This week, Jacksonville (3-2) will host Kansas City.

James recorded three tackles in the Lions' upset of the Falcons, 17-10. Davis has 23 tackles in four games this season. The Lions (3-1) host the Packers this week.

Lance was signed to the Dalls Cowboys active roster on Wednesday. He was previously on the Ravens' practice squad.

Barrett Green Linebacker
Class of 1999
Barrett recorded four tackles as well as forcing and recovering a Jason Witten fumble in the Giants 26-10 win over the Cowboys. Barrett has 25 tackles thus far on the season. The Giants (4-1) have a bye this week.

Brian has been diagnosed with a herniated disk in his back, and is rehabilitating the injury at the Panthers' practice facility.

Class of 2001
Antwan saw reserve action but did not record any tackles in the 17-10 loss to the Lions. Atlanta fell to 4-1 and will host San Diego this week.

Mike got back into the action this week, recording a tackle and assisting on another on special teams, as Pittsburgh beat the Browns 34-23. Pittsburgh improves to 4-1 and plays at Dallas this week.

Jerry had 4 receptions for 35 yards, but the Raiders fell to the Colts 35-14. Porter has 18 catches for 248 yards, but has yet to score this season. Oakland (2-3) hosts Denver this week.

Class of 1994
Todd was outstanding on Sunday, punting five times for an average of 48.2 yards. Four of Sauerbrun's 5 punts pinned the Broncos inside the 20, including a long of 58 yards, but Denver prevailed 20-17. The Panthers (1-3) travel to Philadelphia this week.

Amos gained 94 yards of total offense in Oakland's 35-14 loss to the Colts. Zereoue rushed 10 times for 41 yards and caught 7 passes for another 53 yards. In the last 4 games, Amos has accounted for 325 yards of total offense. The Raiders (2-3) host the Broncos this week.
