Streak Continues

West Virginia extended its streak of Big East player of the week awards on Monday.

Defensive back Mike Lorello, who was also the BlueGoldNews.com defensive player of the game, shared the conference honor this week with Syracuse's James Wyche.

Lorello, a 6-1 junior defensive back from Powell, Ohio, had eight tackles – all solo – in West Virginia's 35-30 win at Rutgers. Three of his tackles were for lost yardage, including one sack. He also recovered a fumble.

The award is the third straight week that West Virginia has had a player honored by the league. Overall, WVU has earned eight player of the week awards this season.
