St. John's Quick Recap

West Virginia was again abysmal in almost every phase of the game in a 72-53 loss to a very average St. John's team on Saturady at Madison Square Garden.

WVU (7-5, 0-1) shot poorly from the field, turned the ball over, and played some of the worst defense of the Gale Catlett era in the loss to the Red Storm.

West Virginia was crushed on the offensive boards as they failed to block out or attack the ball at all, especially in the first half. St. John's (10-3, 1-1) was in double figures in offensive rebounds in the opening stanza and had 16 second chance points at the break.

The Mountaineers' offensive play was not much better, as the struggled all afternoon to get into any flow.

More coverage is on the way, including the box score, a detailed game story, and photos.
