West Virginia's NFL alumni had some up and down performances during the weekend's games.

Aaron Beasley Defensive Back
Class of 1995
In a 35-10 win over the Raiders, Aaron and the rest of the Atlanta secondary held the pass happy Oakland offense to 166 yards through the air. Aaron recorded a tackle, and had an assist on special teams. His big play of the day was forcing a J.J. Redmond fumble in the second quarter. The turnover led to an Atlanta touchdown, putting the Falcons up 14-3.

Anthony Becht Tight End
Class of 1999
The Jets fell Sunday afternoon to the Steelers 17-6. Anthony caught one pass for four yards, but the offense failed to get the ground game going against the revamped Steel Curtain. New York did gain more than 100 yards on the ground, but averaged only 3.3 yards per carry.

Rich Braham Offensive Lineman
Class of 1993
The Bengals' offense was impressive against New England, but it wasn't quite enough in a 35-28 loss. Cincinnati gained 150 yards on the ground and showed great protection of both Carson Palmer and Jon Kitna. The O-Line gave up no sacks in 37 pass attempts.

John Browning Defensive Lineman
Class of 1995
Kansas City was involved in another shootout on Monday Night Football, coming out on top of the Titans, 49-38. Despite allowing almost 600 yards of total offense, the Chiefs managed a last ditch effort by Tennessee to win. John had 5 tackles as well as a sack of Billy Volek for a 12-yard loss.

Marc Bulger Quarterback
Class of 1999
Marc was out with a sprained shoulder as the Rams fell to the Panthers 20-7. Bulger is expected to be out again this coming week against Arizona. Head coach Mike Martz expects Bulger to return for the Rams' showdown with the Eagles in two weeks. In his absence, backup Chris Chandler threw six picks in the loss.

The Jaguars only managed 90 yards and 3.2 yards per carry, but the pass lifted them to a 22-3 win over the Bears. The line held strong, not giving up a sack in 45 pass attempts.

The Detroit defense played well, but it wasn't quite enough to overcome the Packers in a 16-13 loss. James had six tackles and a pass defense in the contest.

The Cowboys defense couldn't hold the Saints, losing 27-13 while giving up over 250 passing yards. Lance had an active day with six tackles, two pass defenses, and an interception of Aaron Brooks. Lance also returned three punts for six yards.

New York's defense again collapsed along with its offense in a 37-14 loss to Baltimore. Barrett had just one tackle in a game where Baltimore had 4 passing touchdowns and 169 rushing yards.

Gary was again active both on defense and on special teams in Kansas City's 49-38 win over the Titans. Stills had one tackle on special teams, and recovered two fumbles, including one on the last play of the game. Kansas City's special teams limited the Titans to 18.5 yards per kickoff return.

Jay Taylor Kicker
Class of 1999
Jay scored six more points in his second game as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, but the Bucs lost to the Chargers, 31-24. Taylor missed his first field goal, hitting the left upright from 30 yards out. He was 3-3 on extra points before connecting on a 40-yard field goal with 16 seconds remaining in the game. The Bucs were unable to recover the ensuing onside kick to seal the game.

Mike hit three field goals for the second straight game, playing a big role in Indianapolis' 23-14 win over the Texans. Vanderjagt connected from 30, 43, and 44 yards, with the last two coming late in the game to seal the win.
