Hargett Surgery Set For 12:30

Mountaineer point guard Jonathan Hargett is scheduled to have surgery on his injured right knee at 12:30 p.m. today.

Hargett, who left the Mountaineer team in New Jersey this morning following Wednesday's ugly loss to Rutgers, is expected to be out for 10-14 days. Once Hargett is cleared to return to the court, he could miss additional time as he works his way back into game shape.

"He'll have to rework his way back into playing form," said Mountaineer head coach Gale Catlett. "Hopefully this will help him change his shooting rhythm. I've never seen him shoot like this."

No plans have yet been made as to how WVU will substitute at the point position. Both Lionel Armstead and Jay Hewitt have struggled to run the team effectively from the point guard position during Hargett's absences.

The Mountaineers face Seton Hall Friday night.
