Weekend Recruiting Wrapup

West Virginia finished up the next to last big football recruiting weekend on Sunday.

The Mountaineers are still without a a quarterback commitment, despite bringing several candidates to campus for visits. Juco QB Charles Hales and high schoolers Lew Kuffor and Denayne Dixon (who could also play another position) were the latest to visit the Mountaineer campus.

WVU also still appears to be looking hard for a couple of defensive linemen, linebackers, and another wide receiver or two, and expects to concentrate on those area with next week's thirteen official visits.

One player who could help fill the defensive line gaps is a late addition to the weekend's visit list. Warren Young, a defensive lineman from Mary Montgomery High School in Semmes, Alabama, was on campus for a tour of the Mountaineer program. Young was a stalwart for Montgomery, which finished the season at 9-1 but lost in the first round of the 6A Alabama state playoffs. Young was an honorable mention All-State selection for the Vikings.
