Player of the Game - Villanova

Senior center D'or Fischer was the Mountaineers' lone bright spot in their horrid 84-46 loss to Villanova on Wednesday evening.

Fischer continued his smooth shooting, hitting five of his seven shots from the field and all four of his free throw attempts on his way to 14 points. Fischer was the lone consistent offensive force on the floor for West Virginia on a night when only two Mountaineers hit double figures.

West Virginia was unable to get the ball into Fischer enough to stay even remotely competitive in the game, however. The Villanova defense hounded the Mountaineer guards throughout the game, pressuring them and preventing easy entry passes into the post. On those few occasions when Fischer did get the ball, the Wildcats could do little to stop him, but he didn't get nearly enough chances to make a difference in the contest.
